How to Obtain Korean Tourist Visa.



Are you planning to visit South korea, This beautiful country has all what you looking for, Unique culture, Beautiful scenery and of course lovely people. I was lucky enough to be able to visit this beaufiful country of Korea, My first stop was in seoul and had a train ride from seoul to busan, I was surprised that the local is actually really nice people. In my city we have many korean living here and they can be really arrogant sometimes although maybe they just dont socialize that much with the locals. But in Korea they are the nicest people ive ever meet. One time i was lost i couldn’t find my way one local tap my shoulder and showed me the way. I couldnt thank enough. Anyway here is some tips and list of requirements for your future trip to korea.



Requirements for the Tourist Visa Application
1. Philippine Passport
Original passport( Must be valid not below 6 months)
Photocopy of Passport Bio-page
Original & Photocopy of valid visa/s and arrival stamps ( if you have any)

Note: tampered passport will not be accepted so make sure your passport is in mint condition.
2. Photo
One passport sized coloured picture
3.5 cm ×4.5 cm with white background
Photo must be pasted on the application form.

Write down the number of the Confirmation of Visa Issuance, if applicable.
Item 1-2. Write down the name as printed in your passport. Surname is last name and given name is first name.
Item 3. If you have the Chinese character name, write down in Chinese character. Only for people from countries that use Chinese character.
Item 4. To mark your gender, check a bracket below.
Item 5. Write down the date of birth in the order of day, month, and year.
Item 6. Write down your nationality.
Item 7. Write down the name of the country you were born in.
Item 8-11. Write down your address, phone number, mobile phone number and email in your home country.
Item 13-17. Write down the type of your passport (see your passport) and draw a circle around the appropriate one. DP (Diplomatic Passport), OF(Official Passport), OR(Ordinary Passport)
Item 18-20. Write down your occupation and the phone numberㆍnameㆍaddress of your company.
Item 21-25. Write down personal data of your spouse, if you are married. 29. Write down how many times you have visited Korea.
Item 30-31. Write down the address and phone number of a place you are going to stay after arriving in Korea. If they are undecided, write down “undecided.”
Item 32. Write down who will bear the cost of your stay in Korea. (name, relation)
Item 34. If you are a spouse or a child under the age of 20 of a person who holds the visa status of Culture and Art(D-1), Student(D-2), General Training(D-4) through Particular Occupation(E-7), fill these blanks.
Item 35. Write down the name of person who sponsors your visa. A sponsor may be a non-Korean.


4. Original Certificate of Employment (COE) or Business Registration issued by SEC or DTI
5. Original Personal Bank Certificate

Before they don’t require bank statement but lately the rules has changed now you have to provide your Bank Statement and bank book as well prior to applying. Including your bank certificate.You ask it at your bank for the purpose of visa application.

6. Photocopy of Income Tax Return (Form 2316 for employed and Form 1701 for self employed)

7. Birth Certificate NSO

Note: Only student applicants are required to submit the birth certificate.
8. Other Supporting documents you need.
Roundtrip Airline Ticket / e-Ticket
Hotel Reservation / Confirmation
Approved Leaves – with confirmation or acceptance of manager
TWO OPTION ON HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION
Submit Application to the Korean Embassy

Filing of visa application is open from 9 to 11 am only, Monday to Friday.
First come, first served basis. No appointment is needed.
First time travellers and those who do not have previous or valid visas to U.S., Canada, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, or Korea must present their documents at Windows 1 or 2.
Frequent Travellers, seamen and those who have confirmation of visa issuance number should apply at Window 3.
2. Pay the visa fee

For Philippine Passport holders:
59 days (or less) stay in Korea — GRATIS (without charge)
60 to 90 days stay in Korea – Php 1,350
More than 90 days stay in Korea – not applicable for tourist visa
Single Entry – Php 2,250
Multiple Entry – Php 3,600

American Passport holders : Php 2,025
Foreign nationals in the Philippines applying for a tourist visa : Php 1,350
3. Wait for the visa to be processed
Processing takes 5 working days or maybe more i got mine for a week.
4. Claim your passport
Releasing time is only from 2 to 4 pm.
Submit Application thru Travel Agency

I used a travel agency for my application since i could not make it to manila, good enough i found reliable one, I just sent them documents and passport together with the payment for their services. I had my passport back with visa stamp after 7 days.

You may ask any agencies they should be able to guide you all through application.
