Philippines Mythical and supernatural that taught us by our parents when we are a kid.

As i grow up, our parents taught us that beside us human there is some creature that is living with us, some are monsters and some also can be a friend. We lived in a remote part of the philippines particularly in Bukidnon.We brought up by our parents believing with this supernatural creatures. Here is list.

Tikbalang/ Taong kabayo:

This Supernatural creature is a half human and half horse. It has a body of a horse but it has a head of a human.It can be a good friend but usually it comes out during full moon to find a woman to get impregnate that can bear his offspring.

Nuno sa punso/ Duwende :

This is a small human like creature but really really small, They lived at the base of the trees or some create their own lumps of soil as their home. There are two types of this creature one is black and the other one is white. The black one is the bad one and the white one is the good one. So when you walk in the forest, You must bare in your mind to say tabi tabi po nuno sa punso. Cos if you disturb their home they will revenge.

Kapre:

This is a big black giant, who have always smoke a big cigars,They used to lived in a big Trees, and they come out during night time specially midnight. They like a beautiful woman, If they like it, They will kidnap and bring it to their home.

Aswang/Balbal/ WakWak:

This is a vampire, But it doesn’t hunt grown up, They like to look for a pregnant woman and suck their fetus, They will climb in the roof and they will look for a hole and stick their very long tongue suck the fetus while the mother is asleep. This creature is a human during the day but will transform into monster during the night.

Manananggal:

This creature is like aswang as well, But the difference between the two is this manananggal will separate the lower part of the body and the upper part will fly and look for its victim. Most likely they are the same as aswang.So if noticed this manananggal, You should look for the remaining part of its body and put salt on it in order for it not to return to its body.

Tiyanak/ Mantianak:

This baby that died and was not being baptized. and they will come back to life to do a revenge.They will drink fresh blood and fresh human flesh. in order to kill them you expose them to sunlight.

Engkantada/Engkantado/ Engkanto:

This is the fallen angel,that fall into trees, Rocks, Rivers and mountains. Some people also believes that they are fairies or nymphs, They can be a good friend as well if they like you. and if a single engkanto find a woman that he like, He will kidnap her and take her soul bring it back to their home to marry.

Mangkukulam/ Mambabarang:

They are witches, They are can be really bad, They used black magic or cast evils to the person they don’t like who did something wrong to them.They can be dangerous cos if they put spell on you, It could damage you seriously or even death.
